JOSHUA JAMES PARK EXPANSION
Below is a revised design for the proposed expansion of Joshua James Park at the foot of Allerton Hill.  The first graphic includes details of the park itself, while the second proposes additional parking along the town owned railroad bed.  Ideally, the expanded park would include a walking path along the railroad bed and incorporate the bayside bathing beach on the opposite side of Nantasket Avenue.  Allerton Hill residents are encouraged to review the designs and offer feedback before a final proposal is presented to the town for consideration.  Comments can be left here:   FEEDBACK

Notes on the revised plan:  Responding to feedback from Allerton Hill residents, the revised park design eliminates the "Tot Lot" and Pickleball courts included in the initial plan, while providing 10 additional municipal parking spaces, and 5 spaces for boat trailer parking (for boat owners using the existing boat ramp off Cadish).  Extending from Y Street to W Street, the one way access lane follows the fence line between the park and reconfigured D&W storage lot.  Joshua James Park, landscaped with salt tolerant plantings and trees screening the D&W site, includes a 10 ft wide pedestrian/stroller/bike pathway that anticipates the future reopening of the railroad bed right of way, and allows walking access to the beach via XWV Streets.
